Spumoni!

Finally, all of the knitting is done. I'm having some concerns about the quality of the raw edges and what they will look like when I pick up the stitches for the edges. So I'm considering neatening the egdes with a crochet hook and then machine stitching the raw edge inside of the seaming stitch allowance. KWIM?

Other than that, I'm nibbling away at C's striped sweater and swatching bits and pieces for Mr. Greenjeans.

Busy...Busy...Busy

Nothing major, no one died...I just forgot how much "stuff" has to happen once the kids are back in school. Martial arts, Girl Guides (and camping trips), tryouts for the school play, Parent Nights, School Council Nights and a DH working silly hours are simultaneously competing for my attention.

I am knitting a little bit but unfortunately tinking even more. I managed to drop a stitch on the sleeve of my Bacardi and cheerlessly ripped out 15 rows to correct it. Grrr...

The little striped sweater is chugging along and based on knitting the back and one sleeve, I will have enough yarn to finish it...with a collar! Likely it will fit Clare, so I owe Ellery a sweater now.

Perhaps Mr. Greenjeans, Amy Swenson's latest offering on Knitty. I'm sure I have something in stash that would work...

Happy Happy! Joy Joy!...it's the First Day of School!

The first day of school!

Good news, Ellery and Clare love their new teachers and the note back from Gilly's teacher seems promising.

Bad news, I forgot to recharge the camera battery for first day pictures. (bad mum)

And another important milestone...Haley's third birthday.

The treat with the candle?...fresh liver. The gifts, a stuffy to be torn apart by Haley (hey, it's her only vice) and some dog treats.

Fingers crossed for a good day tomorrow!

Happy Labour Day!

Things are busy here...time for one last neighbourhood BBQ, bike ride to the beach, swim at a friend's house and everything else that is fun in the summer! Oh and of course, Boo mimicking Ian mowing the lawn!

I've gotten some knitting done. I've finished the left front on Bacardi and have to pick up and knit the right front and back from the armholes. (I guess that makes me almost halfway there?)

I've been chipping away at the Chelsea sweater, although I haven't decided what it should look like. So far, it is straight.

I have eight balls of Lily Chin Chelsea, purchased on sale from Knitomatic. If I can eek out the back using not much more than one ball of each colour, then I should be able to complete the sweater including a polo-type collar.

But tonight, it's the countdown...

Backpacks...packed
Bestest new outfit...selected and accessorized
Bus Schedule (for Boo)...arranged

Less than 14 hours...
